The debate fund has supported the Boston Debate League since 2005, providing the start-up funding that has helped the BDL to become the most successful city in the National Urban Debate League movement.
Director of the Boston Debate League, Steve Stein, adds, “The Timothy Averill Debate Education Fund was instrumental in the early years of the Boston Debate League. It was one of the league’s first funders and helped it develop the resources it needed to become the organization it is today. When the TADEF first funded the BDL, it was in 3 schools serving 25 kids. In 2013, it is in 19 schools serving over 600.”
